Disability Benefits

Busbys Solicitors of Devon and Cornwall specialise in disability benefit advice. We help with Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and Incapacity Benefit (IB). These benefits are non-means tested. We also assist people appealing against the refusal of DLA and IB, and we appear as advocates in the appeals tribunals. We have an exceptionally high level of success.

DLA provides financial assistance to those who need help from someone else for a significant portion of the day, or for those who cannot walk except in pain, or who cannot walk in unfamiliar places unless assisted by another. Incapacity Benefit is available for those unable to work through disability. Many professionals eg. doctors, who should be in the front rank of advisors for such benefits are in many instances unaware of the criteria. We are told by the government that over 3 billion pounds of welfare benefits are not taken up each year. A significant proportion not taken up is in disability benefits.
